The first edition of the tournament, held at the National Golf Center in Madrid, brought together more than 100 people for a charity event aimed at supporting the continuation of the ROC Foundation’s projects and raising public awareness of its work.
The ROC Foundation held its First Charity Tournament at the National Golf Center in Madrid. This inaugural event brought together players, professionals, partner companies, and friends of the Foundation with a common goal: to help fund and ensure the continuity of its projects in the areas of education, research, and international health cooperation.
The initiative was launched with the aim of expanding the ways in which the ROC Foundation’s activities can be supported and bringing its work closer to companies and individuals who wish to contribute to the development of its projects.
The event was very well received from the very beginning and reached full capacity with a waiting list before it even took place. In total, more than 100 people participated in a day that combined sports, socializing, and solidarity.
In addition to the competition, various charitable initiatives took place throughout the tournament, including a charity raffle, the proceeds from which, along with the rest of the funds raised during the event, will help support the work of the ROC Foundation.
Three pillars with a common purpose
The ROC Foundation focuses its activities on three main areas: teaching, research, and international health cooperation, through which it seeks to contribute to the advancement of medicine and make a positive impact on both healthcare professionals and patients.
In the field of education, it promotes the training and continuing education of specialists, facilitating and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and the learning of advanced techniques that enable the latest advances in urology to be applied to clinical practice.
Research is another of its fundamental pillars, with the goal of contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of new solutions that will continue to improve the diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases.
Added to this is its commitment to international health cooperation, promoting initiatives designed to provide specialized urological care in places where access to certain resources and treatments is more limited. These initiatives combine patient care with the training of local professionals, with the goal of ensuring that knowledge and care capabilities remain in the region long after each intervention.
The First Charity Tournament has brought these three areas together under a unique initiative, creating a new platform for companies and individuals to learn about the Foundation’s work and get involved. It is a new way to engage society and the business community in these projects and generate the resources needed to ensure their continuity.
A first edition intended to be the first of many
During the event, Dr. Javier Romero-Otero, president of the ROC Foundation, emphasized the importance of creating initiatives that bring the Foundation’s work closer to society and attract new support for its projects.
“The ROC Foundation was created with the goal of giving back to society a portion of what urology has given us and of promoting projects that can have a real impact on people,” said Dr. Javier Romero-Otero.
The response to this first call for entries—with all spots filled and a waiting list—reinforces the ROC Foundation’s commitment to continuing the tournament and establishing it as an annual event where sports and solidarity come together to support and advance urology.
Support from Companies and Partners
This first edition was made possible thanks to the involvement of the companies and organizations that chose to join the project through various forms of collaboration.
The ROC Foundation would like to extend special thanks to Zeekr, Port Forum, Presstour, Qatar Airways, and Monteabellón for their support and trust, as well as to the other organizations, players, and attendees who helped make the event possible.
He also extends his thanks to the National Golf Center for hosting this first edition and to Bacares for its involvement in organizing the tournament, as well as to everyone who helped prepare and carry out the event.
The day concluded with the presentation of trophies to the tournament winners and various special awards, followed by a gathering of participants and sponsors. The event culminated in a charity raffle for a trip to the Maldives for two people, with flights and accommodations included, courtesy of Luxury Atelier by Presstour.
